MTOTO WA MIEZI 6-12 ANAPASWA KULA NINI

Katika maisha, mtoto mchanga chakula pekee ambacho anatakiwa apewe ni maziwa ya mama.

Kunyonyesha ndiyo njia ya kwanza kabisa kumpa mtoto chakula na vitamini sahihi. Unapoanza kumpa mtoto vitu vingine kama maziwa ya kopo wakati ana miezi michache utoaji wako maziwa mama mzazi huathirika, kwa sababu jinsi mtoto anavyonyonya ndiyo maziwa yanavyotengenezwa.

Ndiyo maana watu wengi wanapoanza kazi na kumuacha mtoto nyumbani maziwa yao huanza kupungua.

Faida za kumnyonyesha mtoto mchanga ni nyingi lakini kubwa kabisa ni kwamba, maziwa ya mama yana virutubisho vingi vya asili ambavyo ni muhimu sana katika ukuaji na kinga kwa mtoto.

Maziwa ya mama humlinda na magonjwa mengi ya utoto pamoja na mzio (allergies) mbalimbali.

Lakini pia kunyonyesha hueleta ukaribu kati ya mama na mtoto, hupunguza uwezekano wa mama kupata kansa ya matiti.

Kikubwa zaidi kumnyonyesha mtoto ni kumpa chakula cha bure ambacho mzazi anaweza kumlisha mwanaye lishe hiyo bora wakati wowote bila usumbufu.


WAKATI GANI UANZE KUMPA CHAKULA

Mtoto akifikisha miezi sita unaweza kuanza kumpatia vyakula vingine kidogokidogo. Mtoto akianza kupewa vyakula nje ya maziwa mapema kabla ya miezi 4 ni hatari kwa afya yake maana mfumo wake wa kusaga chakula unakuwa bado haujawa tayari.
Lakini hata ukianza kumpa vyakula vingine hutakiwi kuacha kumnyonyesha hadi afikie miaka miwili na nusu.

Ili mtoto aweze kula vyakula ni kwamba awe amefikisha miezi sita, shingo iwe imekaza, awe anaweza kukaa kwa kuwekewa kitu (mfano kiti chenye mkanda).

Kumbuka unapoanza kumpa mtoto chakula hasa kwa kijiko lazima awe na uwezo wa kufungua mdomo, kutaka kupokea au kugeuza uso kwa ishara ya kukataa.

Akipokea chakula anakiweka mdomoni na kujaribu kumeza na siyo kukisukuma nje na kuacha mdomo wazi. Hakikisha mtoto wako yupo tayari kabla hujaanza kumpa


UMUHIMU WA NAFAKA ZISIZOKOBOLEWA MWILINI

NAFAKA ni vyakula vyenye wanga ambayo tunahitaji kwa ajili ya nishati kuupatia mwili nguvu. 

Nafaka ambazo hazijakobolewa, kama vile mchele wa rangi ya kahawia (Brown rice) na ngano ambayo haijakobolewa, ni vyakula vyenye afya zaidi. Chagua unga ambao umetengenezwa kwa nafaka ambazo hazijakobolewa. Mchele mweupe na mahindi vikikobolewa huondoa kiini-tete na ganda la juu ambavyo vimesheheni virutubishi. Nafaka hizo hukobolewa ili bidhaa zake ziweze kukaa muda mrefu dukani bila kuharibika.
Lakini bila kiini-tete na ganda la juu za nafaka zilizokobolewa hubadilika na kutengeneza sukari haraka sana mwilini na zinaweza kusababisha sukari kwenye damu kupanda hadi kufikia viwango vya hatari. Jitahidi kuepuka nafaka zilizokobolewa.


KULA VYAKULA VYENYE NYUZINYUZI

Nyuzinyuzi (fibre) ni sehemu ngumu ya mimea, kama vile majani, mashina na mizizi. Nyuzinyuzi husaidia kupunguza kasi ya ufyonzwaji wa sukari kwenye damu. Hii husaidia kudhibiti kiwango cha sukari kwenye damu, kuukinga mwili na kuboresha umeng’enyaji wa chakula Vyakula vyenye nyuzinyuzi ni pamoja na mbogamboga, maharage au jamii ya mikunde kama vile choroko, njugumawe nk. na nafaka ambazo hazijakobolewa, matunda na mbegumbegu.

Unashauriwa kula kiasi kidogo sana cha vyakula vilivyochakatwa sana na kufungashwa viwandani na kupunguza matumizi ya vinywaji vitamu na pombe.
Vyakula vilivyochakatwa na kufungashwa viwandani au kufungwa kwenye makopo huwa vinavutia sana. Kawaida ni rahisi kuvihifadhi na kuviandaa na ladha yake ni nzuri, lakini vyakula hivyo mara nyingi huwa na sukari nyingi, chumvi nyingi na viambato ambavyo siyo vizuri kwa afya.
Kama umechoka, una njaa, au umetingwa na msongo, vyakula vilivyofungashwa viwandani ni vigumu kuepukwa. Kama yalivyo madawa ya kulevya au sigara, vyakula hivyo, baada ya kula, hukufanya ujisikie vizuri kwa muda mfupi.

Kila mjamzito anapohudhuria kliniki amekuwa akishauriwa kupatiwa vidonge vya aina ya folic acid. Kwa bahati mbaya, baadhi yao huwa hawavimezi, jambo linalowakosesha watoto walio tumboni virutubisho muhimu kwa ajili ya afya ya ubongo.
